The highly anticipated costume drama Whispers of Fate will premiere on streaming platforms Mango TV and Migu on Friday, followed by its broadcast on Hunan Television six days later.
Adapted from Teng Ping's novel Qian Jie Mei (Enduring a Thousand Tribulations), the series features actor Luo Yunxi as Tang Lici, a swordsman of rare talent but reclusive disposition. His world is shattered by the devastating betrayal of a close friend, propelling him into a conspiracy that threatens to unravel the entire martial arts world. He thus embarks on a perilous quest to expose the scheme, a journey that forges him into a true master.
On social media platform Sina Weibo, the hashtag "Whispers of Fate going global" has garnered over 14 million views. Meanwhile, more than 24,600 related videos have been posted on TikTok, setting a pre-release overseas popularity record by a domestic series, according to the producers.
Twelve character posters were released on Monday, featuring key figures such as Luo's protagonist Tang; Xiao Shunyao's Shen Langhun, who becomes an assassin after witnessing his wife's death; Ao Ziyi's Chi Yun, an arrogant yet kindhearted swordsman; and Fang Yilun's Liu Yan, Tang's former clanmate who later turns against him.
Filmed over 144 days, the production involved more than 2,000 crew members, with 847 costumes and 1,222 accessories specially designed for the series. The team also built 12 soundstages and shot in 164 outdoor locations across various sites.
