As one of the most ancient operas in China, Kunqu enjoys a history of more than 600 years. The opera has experienced both highs and lows throughout the ages. Now, it has established itself as "the forebearer of all Chinese operas" with its unique artistic attractions.
The origin of Xiamen Municipal Nanyue Ensemble was Xiamen Jin Feng Nan Yue Ensemble, which was founded in 1954. Nan Yue is also called Nan Yin, Nan Guan etc.. It is one kind of ancient music of our country. So far it is more than one thousand years old and has the name of living fossil of music.
The Guangdong Music and Ballad Company was set up in 1958. It is the only professional art troupe in China that performs Guangdong folk music and Guangdong ballad-singing and story-telling. Among its repertoire, Sing in Praise of the Great Man won the 7th Wenhua program prize and Wenhua performance prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture.
Designed by the well-known British TT International Stage Designing Company Ltd., the Beijing Poly Theater has first-class facilities and management service in China. The Theater can host performances of ballet, opera and concert as well as large-scale international conferences and film shows.
The Cultural Palace for Ethnic Communities is well-known both at home and abroad, located on Beijing Chang'an Street, it is one of the ten big buildings constructed to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
