Wang Yuanshen (1817-1914) was the earliest preacher of Chinese Christianism.

He was born inGuangdongProvince. When he was a little child, he lost his father. He began to do business but failed at last. Later he went toHong Kongand got to know Christianism. In 1847, he was baptized and became a member of Chinese Union. His activity was mainly inGuangdongProvince.

His main works includethe Record of Doxy, a rare book on early Chinese Christianism.
