千山鳥(niǎo)飛絕，

(qiān shān niǎo fēi jué,)

On a hundred hills, there’s no bird in flight.

萬(wàn)徑人蹤滅。

(wàn jìng rén zōng miè.)

On a thousand paths, there’s no footprint in sight.

孤舟蓑笠翁，

(gū zhōu suō lì wēng,)

On a lonely boat, an old angler in straw cape and hat

獨(dú)釣寒江雪。

(dú diào hán jiāng xuě.)

Is fishing in the river on such a cold, snowy day.
