Yingge dance is a traditional folk dance popular in Guangdong and is often performed during traditional Chinese festivals. As a dynamic blend of theater, dance and martial arts, it was listed among the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
The story is about the rebellious son of a prestigious yingge dance family who returns home to inherit its traditions and, at the same time, break boundaries to promote the dance. It also depicts young people's deep-rooted sense of family and national identity.
