This is the first time that the movies selected for the film festival are screened overseas.
The film festival is scheduled to be held from Oct. 10 to 19 in Pingyao, a 2,700-year-old city and a World Cultural Heritage site in northern China's Shanxi Province, which was initiated by Chinese filmmaker Jia Zhangke.
